There are many ways to get involved! You will hear from your teacher about the different ways you can help in your child’s classroom. In addition, the PTA is seeking volunteers for the following committees:
Green Team Help build a more sustainable River School and teach kids about the importance of protecting our environment. Some projects that the Green Team might take on include recycling programs, plantings flowers at the school entrance, and building a roof garden.
Fundraising Committee Help plan and run the PTA’s various fundraising events, especially our Spring Benefit & Silent Auction.
School Store Committee Sell River School T-shirts and other apparel and manage inventory.
Publications Committee Collect photos and other materials, design pages, and sell ads for our school yearbook and cookbook.
Welcoming/Language Helper Committee Serve as mentors for new families and as translator for non-English-speaking families.
Grants Committee Research and apply for grants.
Budget Committee Help the treasurer draft the budget for the next school year.
Afterschool & Enrichment Committee Research and recommend new afterschool and enrichment programs.
Audit Committee Review our financial records to make sure all is in order.
Safety Committee Help the PTA coordinate school safety activities with the school.
Webmaster Help update and maintain the ps281.org website.
Plus, we need parent volunteers to help make our community events a success!
