We had such a great time on our field trip to the NYC Center for Space Education. 3rd graders learned about astronauts missions and the role that mission control plays. We used our imagination to actually pretend we were in space and learned about how life is very different up there!

We had such a great time learning about different careers this week! 3rd graders heard presentations from a nurse, a diplomat, a graphic designer for Johnson & Johnson, a public relations manager for Guinness Book of World Records, and a police officer. They asked great questions and began to think about their future career!
We are loving every minute of Book Buddies! This week, third graders wrote persuasive letters and did a presentation to convince Jessica that it would be valuable to do weekly book buddies with the Kindergarteners. We convinced her! We are using our amazing reading skills to help them become better readers!
In 3rd grade, we have been studying and discussing a new precept everyday! A precept is a rule to live by. We analyze these quotes and think about how they can apply to our lives. This week’s precepts have included:
“Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness”- Seneca
“It is better to ask some of the questions than to know all of the answers”- James Thurber
“Be yourself, everyone else is already taken”- Oscar Wilde
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”- Eleanor Roosevelt
